Day 7, Week 1 in Wuhan, China

The picture looks blur as it was taken using the machine on the streets...
It was the best i could get.......

What We Did

Today, we attended our first Application Programming (APPG) Lesson. We waited in class for Lesson to begin, as some our classmates were running late. We also collected our Staff Card that we are able to use at the Staff Recreation Centre to book the facilities there to play games such as billiards, chess, and basketball or even go for a workout as well.
We started lesson late though. Some Students were late, and we and we had to wait for them to begin the lesson. I thought that the lesson would go smoothly with minimal hiccups in between such as technical errors. We didn’t expect at least 90% of the Class would have the same technical problem. Apparently, most of us were using the Visual Studio Version 2005. This Module required the 2008 Version instead. Thus, we required an additional patch up to our existing software. We were supposed to complete 3 Programs by the end of the day (Lab 1A, 1B and 1C).
However, by noon, we were only able to complete until Lab 1A.
As we were dismissed from class slightly later, we decided to head back to the hostel to have our Lunch (Packet Noodles) instead of fighting with the afternoon lunch crowd.

We thought that the problem for downloading and installing the additional file would take a short while, but the problem persisted. I decided to skip the second part Lab Section of 1B and decided to the last section instead. Upon completion of the 1C, I waited with the rest for the software to be up and ready to be downloaded. Being very bored, I ended up redoing the two programs over again, this time, without referring to the notes and the steps provided. I managed to complete them within 30 minutes. I should improve myself.
Meanwhile, Mr. Chua was looking into ways to get the problem resolved. They finally found a way, but more tedious to solve the problem. I managed to finish the 3 Programs with enough time to Revision for the remaining Programme.

Following the lesson, we headed to the Hostel and placed our belongings there and headed for Lunch at the Canteen. We were cheated at the Canteen when we went to buy our food. We bought a normal meal that would usually cost us 6-7 Yuan. We were told to pay 11-12 Yuan instead. I was pretty startled at the price and wanted to ask why the price was so high, but it slipped my mind then. When we went to our table was when we realised that we were overcharged. Sebestian wanted to go and ask them at first, but he decided not to go.
We could not possibly go for meals everyday as we had a tight budget. After our Dinner, we headed down to bakery to get some bread and headed back to the hostel. We carried on with our Journal Entries, Researching of Information for our Report and doing our Photo Essay on the Buildings.

What We Think

As of tonight, I have been in Wuhan for at least 7 days now. It has been a week since I left Singapore. Adapting here was hard initially and it certainly took some time getting used to. In this past week, I have learned a lot about Chinese Heritage and Culture. Not only that, I have also learnt a lot about Wuhan and Hubei as well. I also managed to loosen up slightly as well. I felt that was a good thing as I always referred to as someone who is very stiff.
