What We Did

This morning, we attended our Lessons as per normal. Today we were having our IS Lesson. Our other classmates continued to present their slides on Singapore History and Culture. Meanwhile some of our Classmates went over to see the Coordinator of the Wuhan University of Science and Technology (WUST) to organize a Interaction Programme between us and the Students from the University. This would help us to build strong friendships between our friends in Wuhan, China. Not only that, it would also help us to build up our network in China as well.
This event would probably take place in Week 3 and Week 4 of our Programme.
After our Lesson, we headed back to the hostel to finish up our APPG Worksheet 1 and our IS Assignment 1. We were told to submit them during the Lesson that would be on at 2 pm.
On the way to the Classroom, we decided to take a short cut, behind the Main Administration Building.
It only happen to take us roughly 10 -15 minutes walking up the hill, compared to 30 minutes taking the longer route pass the School of Literature and Law. Not only that, there was lesser traffic along the route as well.

During Lesson, we listened to our to the remaining groups present on Singapore’s History and Culture. I felt it was hard to keep awake as the pace was too slow. I simply had to force myself to be awake so that I can listen to their presentations. After, all the Presentations were done; we were release earlier after being briefed on what to prepare for the next day for APPG (Homework on Exercise 1C) and the Three Gorges Dam Trip Briefing as well.

As the day ended earlier, we decided to go for a game of Table Tennis at the Staff Recreation Centre, then head down for Dinner. We went to our rooms, freshened up and met at the entrance to register for the usage of the room. I didn’t play table tennis before, so initially, I was quite lost. I had to ask Sebestian and Hwee Ping to teach me on how to play the game. It was hard to catch up at first, but eventually got the hand of the game. Soon, we started playing the game, but there were times that I played as though, I was playing badminton. I ended up smashing at the Sasireika and Hwee Ping who were my opponents then. I think they were pretty scared of me. Sebestian told me every now and then “Control your Strength. This is not a game of Badminton” We certainly had a good laugh as we played a few games, although some were pretty hilarious though. We ended the game at around 6.15pm and headed to the Canteen for our Meal.

After having our Meal, we headed out to the Night Street Bakery, to buy our Breakfast for the next day. Sebestian also went down to get his CD Roms changed as they were not working. He managed to find 2 new ones and replace the ones that he bought earlier. Hopefully, they work this time around.

When we returned to our Hostel, we wanted to have some watermelon. But to our horror, we realized that the Watermelon was spoilt and there was some form of liquid that was coming out. It looked very disgusting indeed. We had to throw it away. Sebestian felt very sad that his 9 Yuan Watermelon was spoilt.

He also tried out his games that he replaced as well. Apparently, when he tried out the 1st Game, his computer practically came to a standstill. Thankfully, his second game was successfully installed and he was able to use it. He ended up playing the game’s tutorial for the rest of the night.

What We Think

The Recreation Facilities at the Staff Recreation Centre weren’t that good, but they were in relatively good condition though. It was good to play games once in a while. After all, all Studies and no play is not a good thing. We need a balance in life to ensure a healthy lifestyle and mindset.

I also learned that we had to be careful when buying electronic items, especially CD Roms for Games or Software. There is a high chance that they may be pirated or may not even work on our Laptops and Desktops. We would have to be cautious.....
